Cupping

Cupping is a traditional Chinese medicine technique, using suction cups applied to muscles to alleviate muscle tension and pain. Think of it as a reverse deep tissue massage. Rather than applying pressure to the muscle, cupping involves gently pulling the musculature outwards, which effectively releases tension by drawing it away to promote release and relaxation.

Cupping is commonly used to alleviate muscle pain, improve blood flow/circulation, decrease inflammation, and promote relaxation/release. Cupping can stimulate energy flow to facilitate the smooth flow of qi and clear stagnation and blockages. It's regularly used with acupuncture for a synergistic therapeutic effect.

    This technique is where cups are placed on your body and will stay there for a certain duration of time.

    Slide Cupping

    This technique is where the cup is specifically moved around muscles groups to promote more blood flow/circulation.

  • Sessions can be from 10-minutes to 30-minutes.

  • They can last anywhere between 4-7 days. If you are someone who bruises easily you may see marks for 7-10 days.

  • No, cupping should not hurt. It should feel like a deep release. We will always start with very light suction and increase with your consent.

  • No, the marks don’t hurt. The marks may be sensitive to touch for up to 24 hour post-treatment, but in general should not hurt to touch.

  • The ideal timeline would be 1-session per week to 1 session every other week. Specific treatment timelines can be adjusted accordingly to fit your schedule.
